Special Event Presented by Under Streetlights & ColdNips

Under Streetlights & ColdNips present a special advanced screening of Under Streetlights, Australia’s first musical drama feature film, with live music from the movie and a post screening Q & A.

Film Synopsis

Set in the vibrant cultural crossroads of Alice Springs, Under Streetlights follows the intertwining lives of Ella, an American-Australian grappling with her mother’s recent passing, and Izak, a young Indigenous hip-hop artist chasing his dream.

Their shared passion for music becomes a powerful force, blending Ella’s hidden, soulful voice with Izak’s raw beats—songs born from an iPhone but driven by a desire for something much greater.

As they navigate the weight of cultural expectations and the shadows cast by their fathers’ struggles with alcohol, their bond deepens. Emerging from a local initiative to uplift young talent in remote Australia, Under Streetlights is a stirring testament to the power of music—lighting the way toward chasing dreams and transcending obstacles. It’s an unforgettable journey of hope, unity, and the rhythms that carry us forward.
