We know you’ve been missing us! It’s officially the beginning of Rooftop Movies season and there’s a lot to look forward to already. Rooftop Movies turns 15 this year so we have made sure to stack the program with a perfectly curated mix of new movies, cult classics, special events and even some super-secret birthday surprises that we can guarantee you will want to be involved in.
Rooftop Movies has been a consistent staple of Northbridge nightlife for the last 15 years. Sitting above ground, keeping a watchful eye over the changing city skyline and chaos of the streets below. This year is no different! I mean, it’s hard not to become a Perth city icon with a view like Rooftop Movies. We can’t think of a better combination than friends and family, food and drinks and fabulous views.
This program drop has some exciting events that we really think you should get around. The season starts October 28 with a tribute to beloved icon Dolly Parton. A triple threat of the stage, screen and our hearts, the Rooftop is honouring the queen of country by screening 9 to 5. This opening night event will be hosted by drag ICON Barbie Q who will transport us to Dollywood, bringing the laughs and good energy. Rooftop celebrations don’t stop there as we kick off the season with another crowd favourite, Rocky Horror Picture Show! Dress ups are encouraged as we celebrate the AMAZING work of legend Tim Curry in his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
The 2025/26 program is stacked with a little something for anyone. Illuminated by the glow of Perth city, we’re bringing you some much anticipated new releases like Practical Magic 2, Resident Evil, and Verity. You can even replace the New York City skyline with Perth city, and immerse yourself in the Spidey-verse when we play Spiderman – Brand New Day on November 8. For those of you more interested in the classics, don’t worry we didn’t forget about you! We’re screening iconic movies Scream, Labyrinth and Gremlins throughout the season as well.
The Rooftop is also hosting some exciting events to soft launch the summer season. West Australian film Pickpockets is having its first big screen debut on November 24, and yoga makes a return to the roof, accompanied by ICONIC movies Princess Diaries and Love Actually. Talk about the perfect self care night!
To celebrate Rooftop Movies turning 15, we also have a super special secret surprise incoming. If you are keeping up to date, you may have noticed some pixelated images on the website. We can’t say much for now but, we will say, you definitely want to keep your eyes peeled on the program. Watch this space and don’t miss the clues we will be dropping on our socials…
